Ozzie Romeo
Today our sweet Ozzie passed away peacefully in his mother’s arms in the comfort of his home at the young age of 5. He was the love of her life, her heart dog, and the 100 lb. soul who kept her lap warm from the day he arrived.
Ozzie came into our lives from the shelter just three short years ago, but somehow, it feels like he had always belonged here. From the very beginning, he filled our home with joy and worked his way straight into all of our hearts.
He had a smile that could light up an entire room… or make you wonder for just a second if he might eat you. It may not have been the prettiest smile, but it was always given the very bestintentions.
Ozzie loved the simple things in life. He would spin circles for a treat, happily destroy every stuffed toy he could get his paws on, claim as much of the couch as possible, and somehow manage to take up an entire bed. He was a professional couch potato, a champion bed hog, and above all else, an A#1 lover boy.
But there was no one he loved more than his momma. Their bond was something special. He was her constant companion; her comfort, her shadow, and the warm little body curled up beside her through every kind of day. He loved her with his whole heart, and she loved him just as fiercely.
Three years will never feel like enough. We would have taken a hundred more if we could. But the years we were given were filled with laughter, comfort, companionship, and a kind of unconditional love that only a very special dog can give.
Ozzie, you came into our lives and made yourself part of our family forever. Our home will feel quieter without you; the couch will feel emptier, and Mom’s lap will never quite feel the same. But you leave behind so many beautiful memories that we will carry with us always. You were loved beyond words, sweet boy.
Forever, Loving you.
Always and forever.
