Micah Mentzer

It’s hard to believe it’s been a little more than 16 years since I found this tiny puppy being brought into the shelter. I knew we were meant to be together when the first thing he did was run to me and lay his little head on my lap.

From that moment on, we became the closest of friends. Micah meant the world to me, and while I only knew him for part of my life, he knew me for all of his.

Micah never met a stranger. He made friends everywhere he went and loved them all, and in return, he was loved by so many people.

Friday night, Micah took his last breath with his best friend by his side, and I like to think his love and positive energy were sent back into the world.

I’ll miss him every day, but I’ll carry the memories we made together for the rest of my life.

I love you, buddy! Thank you for the best 16½ years I could have ever asked for!
