Rona crossed over the rainbow bridge on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024. She went peacefully surrounded by love and with her favorite ball toy.
Rona is survived by her loving parents, her brothers, Bruno and Meech, and countless friends and family who were touched by her spirit.
Born on February 13, 2017, in Philippi, WV, Rona was a special soul from the very beginning. Among a large litter, she stood out, capturing her Dad's heart the moment he picked her up, marking the start of a beautiful journey together.
Rona's life was a testament to resilience and love. She bravely faced a seven-month battle with osteosarcoma, enduring a front limb amputation and chemotherapy with remarkable strength and grace. Despite the challenges, Rona's spirit never wavered, and she continued to spread joy and love until the very end. Her courage in the face of adversity was nothing short of inspiring, and she taught everyone around the true meaning of strength and perseverance.
Rona's love and loyalty knew no bounds, and she had a special way of brightening even the darkest days. She was not just a pet but a true family member and best friend. Her playful spirit and affection brought smiles to everyone she met. Whether it was her enthusiastic greetings, her comforting presence during tough times, or her boundless energy on adventures, Rona made every moment memorable. She will always be remembered for her courage, her gentle nature, and the unconditional love she gave so freely.
Rona was deeply loved and cherished. She was sweet, smart, and strong, with a unique personality that made her truly one of a kind. Rona adored adventures and was happy anywhere as long as she could be with her Mom and Dad. She traveled from the beaches of Florida to the mountains in Colorado, always ready for her next journey. Rona loved playing with her ball, going on walks, truck rides, camping, and swimming. Some of her favorite places to swim were Fortney Mills and Mammy & Pappy’s pool. Rona especially enjoyed going to Grandma Lisa’s, begging for treats, and howling with her brothers.
Our most special memories with Rona involve her being there for every milestone in her parents' relationship. From the very beginning, she was a constant presence, sharing in their engagement in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and playing the most important role as the officiant and wedding witness at their elopement in Colorado. Rona hiked through Garden of the Gods and even stamped their marriage license, making it all official.
Rona's presence will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. She brought immense joy, love, and companionship into our lives, and her memory will continue to inspire us every day. Rest in peace, sweet Rona. You will always be our beloved girl, and we are eternally grateful for the time we had with you.
